Raymond Worth Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sarah L. Carter's Funeral Home - Northside on Dec. 14, 2025.
Raymond Edwin Worth, Sr. was born on December 7, 1949, to the proud parents of Mary Lee and James Worth, Sr. in Jacksonville, Florida. Raymond was a proud graduate of Eugene J. Butler High School in Jacksonville, who carried the values of hard work and perseverance throughout his life. He served honorably in the United States Navy, demonstrating courage and commitment to his country. After his service, Raymond dedicated 28 years to Florida Rock, where he was instrumental in the training and development of many new hires-leaving a lasting impact on his colleagues and the company.

Raymond and Patricia shared a love story that reflected the very heart of God's design for marriage. For over 38 years as husband and wife-and more than 40 years together-they built a life anchored in faith, devotion, and unconditional love. Their relationship was not only a partnership but a ministry, showing what it means to walk in Christ-centered unity. Through every season-whether in times of joy or challenge-they leaned on their faith and on each other, proving that love rooted in Christ can withstand ANYTHING. Raymond and Patricia's marriage was a living testimony of 1 Corinthians 13: love that is patient, kind, and enduring. His legacy will continue through the lives he touched, reminding us of all that the greatest gift is a life lived for God and for one another.

Raymond loved his family and friends deeply and cherished the time spent and memories created more than anything, nothing was more valuable to him. Together with Patricia, they raised a beautiful family, pouring their hearts into their children and grandchildren, teaching by example the importance of kindness, integrity, and faith. Their home was a place of warmth and prayer, where laughter rang out and God's Word guided every decision.

Raymond made his eternal transition on Wednesday, December 10, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Lee and James Worth, Sr.; brother, James Worth, Jr.; and sister, Linda Atwater.

Raymond leaves to cherish his wife, Patricia Worth; children, Raymond E. Worth Jr. (Karen), Romaro Worth (Janene), Mark Colbert (Damika) amd Ravonda Wilson (Bruce); siblings, Laverne Scruggs (Jesse), Annette Morgan and Recina Batson; grandchildren, Raequan Arline, Tacara Townsend, Javien Smith, Wisdom Colbert, Mark Colbert III, Thomas Worth, David Worth, Manuel Colbert, Brent Wilson and Brayden Wilson; one great grandchild, River Arline; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives and friends.
