John Worth Jr,

Born: July 10, 1940 | Died: February 22, 2026

John T. Worth Jr., age 85, of Maryville, died Sunday, February 22, at UT Hospital. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Rob Spirko, of Maryville, Tenn.; son and daughter-in-law, John T. Worth III and Hanako Kobayashi, of Nashville; grandchildren, Joe Worth of Redondo Beach, California, and Hannah and Zeke Spirko of Maryville; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joy B. Worth. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, John worked for many years for BellSouth. He loved tinkering with cars and other machines, and was a fixture at local Mexican restaurants and flea markets. A graveside service with military honors will be held at Grandview Cemetery Chapel on Wednesday, March 4, at 11 a.m. A festive Celebration of Life will be held at The Bird and the Book, 1509 E. Broadway Ave., Maryville, on March 9, at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested for the Friends of the Blount County Animal Center.
