Raymond Wylie, of Gloucester Twp, NJ, passed away on March 17, 2025, at the age of 74.
To those who knew him, Raymond's greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his son, Richard Wylie, and daughter, Kristine Wylie. His grandchildren, Ashley, Giovanni, Mia, and Gabrielle, were the lights of his life, and he cherished every moment he spent with them. Raymond's sister, Bernadette Plefka, and brother, Steven Wylie (Kathleen), along with his partner, Kimberly Hamilton, will deeply miss his warm presence. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will continue to look up to their beloved uncle.
Following his graduation from Cherry Hill High School West, he served his country with dedication and discipline in the Vietnam War, earning a Bronze Star for his valor and commitment. He then went on to be a proud graduate of Glassboro State College (now Rowan University), where he earned his Bachelor's degree and laid the foundation for a lifetime of learning and teaching. Raymond channeled his passion for craftsmanship and education into a fulfilling career as a High School Shop Teacher, shaping the minds and skills of countless students over the years. He was a faithful parishioner at Our Lady of Hope Parish / St. Agnes Church. His commitment to his faith and community was unwavering, and he inspired many with his steadfast devotion.
Raymond's love for sports was unparalleled, especially when it came to the Philadelphia Eagles and the Philadelphia Phillies. His enthusiasm for baseball was not just as a fan – he was an avid collector of memorabilia, and his knowledge of the game was both deep and infectious. But Raymond's interests reached beyond the baseball diamond; he was an ardent traveler who had explored the world on over thirty cruises, always ready to embark on a new adventure with a smile on his face.
Raymond's ability to make everyone feel good was legendary; whether through a quick joke, a helpful tip, or simply by listening, he knew how to brighten a day. His legacy as a loving, funny, and handy man will live on through the stories shared by friends and family and through the lives he touched with his generosity and spirit.
As we bid farewell to Raymond Wylie, we celebrate a life lived to the fullest, rich in experiences and abundant in love. His memory will forever be a beacon of joy and kindness, reminding us of the importance of family, laughter, and the simple pleasures of life. Raymond's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved him, but his smile and the memories he created will forever be cherished.
