Rea K. Merchant, born on October 22, 1932, passed away on September 23, 2023, at the age of 90.

Rea was born and grew up in Billings, Montana. She completed high school, and moved on to become an Assistant Office Manager at Wilson Warehouse in Baton Rouge, LA. She was a member of First New Testament Church. Her hobbies included needlepoint, reading, and gardening.

Rea is survived by her sons, Greg and Dace’ Merchant, and Paul and Angie Merchant; sister, Lois Kelly; and grandchildren, Brandon Merchant, Erik Lundgren, and Karin and Scott Dabney.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Jack A. Merchant; and parents, Lloyd P. Beto and Patsy Bancroft.

Visitation will take place at Resthaven Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, beginning at 9:00 AM until services at 11:00 AM, officiated by Pastor Lee Shipp. Burial to follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.

The family would like to give special thanks to First New Testament Church who provided so much love and support. Thank all of you who loved and became friends with Rea (Mom). She really looked forward to spending time with each of you.
