Reba Hammond

Reba Brandon Hammond, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on September 5, 2025, at the age of 96. Born on September 16, 1928, in Maury City, TN, Reba was a beloved figure known for her kindness, her devotion to her family, and her enduring faith. Throughout her life, she served her community with dedication as a Teacher's Assistant in the Maury City Schools, from where she retired after many years of service.

Reba's life was marked by a deep love for her family, which was always at the center of her heart. She is survived by her daughters, Renee (Joe) McCool and Sharon Hammond, her grandchildren, Bill (Sarah) West and Elizabeth (Brandon) Bridger, and her great-grandchildren, Paisley Bridger, June West, Dixon Bridger, and Emmett West. Reba was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Maurice Hammond, and her parents, Sidney and Virgie Brandon. Reba's love for her family was paralleled by a deep and abiding faith. As a devout Christian woman, she lived out the words of Proverbs 31:28, "Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her."

Aside from her professional career, Reba found joy in learning about her ancestry through genealogy and traveling. She also enjoyed helping her daughter Sharon at her assisted exercise shop. Her life was a testament to the words of 2 Timothy 4:7, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."

Visitation will be held for Reba at Ronk Funeral Home, 106 South Bells Street, Alamo, Tennessee, 38001, on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at 1:00pm. A celebration of life will follow at the same venue at 2:00pm with Dr. Joe Pettigrew officiating. Pallbearers for the service are Bill West, Joe McCool, Baker McCool, William Lents, Brandon Bridger, and Dixon Bridger.
