Reba Arlene Ramsey, 78 of Scotland, Arkansas went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday April 7th, 2024, surrounded by her husband, children, and loved ones. She was born on August 5th, 1945, in Scotland, Arkansas to the late Paul and Oma Dunham.
Reba was a graduate of Scotland High School, class of 1963. Shortly after graduating high school, she married the love of her life Donald Lee Ramsey Sr. on August 22nd, 1963. Together they built a wonderful life and were blessed with three amazing kids; Shelia Marie (Ramsey) Gardner, Rita Joe (Ramsey) Lockwood, and Donald Lee Ramsey Jr. Reba worked at many jobs throughout her life, but her two favorites were being a teachers aid at Scotland High School and being a minister and pastor.
She enjoyed many activities throughout her life including crocheting, knitting, taking care of her yard and flower gardens, canning vegetables, making jelly, cooking, baking, and watching Jeopardy. Her and Don especially took pride in growing one of the best gardens around. They would always grow a garden big enough to make sure all their family and friends had fresh vegetables to eat. Reba also loved and took great pride in sewing and making her quilts. She made quilts for so many people throughout her life. She would make quilts and table runners for all her family for Christmas, birthdays, and to mark all special occasions in life. She also had the opportunity to make quilts for people all over the United States, some of which included people from Texas, Missouri, Louisiana, Florida, Alabama, Indiana, California, and Ohio.
However, her greatest joy in life was her family and her love for Jesus. She loved her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all the family with a fierce passion. To some she was a mother, to some grandmother, and to others she was both. Whether she was cheering on her grandchildren at sporting events or teaching them valuable life lessons, she was always there. The rock and glue for her family, passing on the wisdom she had learned through the years. If you ever needed a friend, a shoulder to cry on, someone to listen, or advice, she was there. And even if you were not blood related, she still considered you family. She was also passionate about her love for her lord and savior Jesus Christ. She dedicated her life to him on February 12th, 1956, at 10 years old and preached her first sermon in April 1959 at
Shirley, Arkansas. Everywhere she went she shared Jesus and his love with everyone she met. Over the years, she held many revivals in several different states, but she always looked forward to the day when she would finally see Jesus face to face. She touched countless lives and was loved by everyone she encountered. She will be greatly missed but she will live on through the ones she leaves behind.
Reba is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Donald Lee Ramsey Sr.; one son Donald Lee (Rebecca) Ramsey Jr.; two daughters, Shelia (Bobby) Gardner and Rita (Wayne) Lockwood, nine grandchildren: Daniel (Meghan) Gardner, Eric (Tracy) Coward, Amanda (Andy) Gibson, Donald Lee Ramsey 3rd, Dakota Ramsey, Zachary Ramsey, Megan Ramsey, Noah Chalk, Kortney (Dakota) Ricketts six great-grandchildren: Evy Gardner, Ethan Coward, Presley Coward, Lincoln Ricketts, Samuel Ricketts, Sloane Ricketts, and one on the way Gus Gardner, one brother, Troy Dunham, and a countless number of other family, and friends.
