Rebecca Guinn Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel - Rainsville on Mar. 12, 2026.
Rebecca Ann Keith Guinn, born June 1, 1948, in the Alpine Community of Mentone, Alabama, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.

She was born to Louise and Leonard Keith, Sr. and grew up in the Mentone community. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald K. Guinn II; her parents; and her baby sister, Libby.

Rebecca is survived by her children: Donald Guinn III (Joy), Scott Guinn (Amanda), and Lauren Everett (Ben); her siblings Leonard Keith (Amy), Brenda Keith, and Pat Bray (Hank); and several special nieces and nephews. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Kelsey Street (Stephen), Wess and Josh Everett, Beckett and Boone Guinn, and a great-grandmother to Raylon and Baby Street.

Rebecca graduated from Valley Head High School in 1966. She went on to earn her bachelor's degree from Jacksonville State University and her master's degree from the University of Alabama, and she later attended Alabama A&M University for additional graduate study. She devoted her life to education, spending many years as a special education teacher before serving as a school psychometrist during the latter part of her career. Her work suited her perfectly-she had a gift for seeing potential in others, always rooting for the underdog and encouraging those around her.

Becky was deeply devoted to her family, and her home was often filled with loved ones. Her love language was food, and she expressed her care by gathering people around her table. She was also an avid reader and lifelong learner who was always curious about the world.

She was an active member of St. Philip's Episcopal Church, where she faithfully served on the altar guild and was a member of the Daughters of the King and the ECW.

Rebecca will be remembered for her generous spirit, her encouragement of others, and the love she poured into her family and community.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 21 at 10:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m., with interment to follow at St. Philip's Episcopal Church in Fort Payne, Alabama.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to St. Philip's Episcopal Church.
