TIPP CITY -- Rebecca L. "Becky" Lutz Roberts, age 81, of Tipp City passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at Miami Valley Hospital under the care of Ohio's Hospice. She was born October 17, 1940 in Dayton, Ohio to the the William Edward Lutz and Catherine Marie Logel Lutz.
Becky is survived by her sister, Kathleen "Kathy" Sherman of Sidney; her children: Houston W. "Bill" Nelson III and wife, Lynn, Sylvia K. "Tina" Atkinson, and Christopher S. "Scott" Nelson; four grandchildren: Chelsea Clowery and husband, Joey, Jan Nelson and wife, Kristin, Kelton Nelson and spouse, Bradley, Jennifer Livingston and husband David; four great grandchildren: Heleina Jimenez, David Jimenez, Mary-Grace Nelson, and Oliver Clowery. Also surviving are her sister-in-law, Sandra Lutz, six nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers William "Billy" Lutz Jr. and Francis "Butch" Lutz; sister Collette Siders, and nephew, Kevin Wiley.
Becky graduated from Miami East High School in 1958. Afterwards, she went on to serve our country by joining the women's branch of the United States Army, the Women's Army Corps (WAC).
Becky had a desire to serve others. She volunteered for many years at Wilson Health Hospice ins Sidney while visiting and sitting with patients, as well as assisting the Bereavement Team. She also baked and cooked for the Holy Angels Soup Kitchen in Sidney, Ohio for 12 years. Quilting was a hobby she used to serve others as she made many lap quilts and donated them to area hospice programs.
Becky was a member of Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Newport, Ohio where she was active on several committees. She has attended St. Patrick Catholic Church in Troy, Ohio for the past two years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Newport, Ohio with Celebrant, Fr. Steven Shoup. Friends may call on the family Friday, October 22, 2021, from 5–7 PM at Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney, Ohio. Burial will follow in Saints Peter & Paul Cemetery with full military honors provided by Shelby County Veterans and United States Army.
