Rebecca Ann Krenmueller Nehr of D'Hanis, age 88, passed away peacefully on the morning of September 2, 2025. She was born October 30, 1936, in Hondo, and lived most of her life with her family in D'Hanis.

Rebecca was the beloved only child of Joe Frank and Elva Lois Mumme Krenmueller.

She was born and raised on a farm, performing and helping out with all the tasks common with a difficult farm life. She also helped her mother with her sewing projects and later in life even made doll clothes for her daughters.

In school, she played clarinet in the Hondo High School band, and continued her love of music by playing the piano and the accordion for all her friends and family.

Rebecca not only loved music but also enjoyed dancing, attending dances for many years even in later life. She also loved being surrounded by her family. She was always a fixture of family gatherings, which were never complete without her preparing and bringing the family favorite goodies.

Rebecca always made sure she had her favorite color, purple, on and around her whenever she could. She will be in the hearts and minds of those close to her every time they see purple carnations, her favorite flower.

She now blissfully joins her husband Frank Nehr, parents, son Frank David Jr., son-in-law Lynn Ray Martin and grandson Keith Martin in eternal rest, and will lovingly watch over her surviving daughters, Wanda Martin, Patricia Martin (Bruce), Theresa Squires (Ron), and Helen Nehr; son, Joseph "Joe E." Nehr (Lana), 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews until the day the entire family rejoices in eternal happiness together.

Visitation will be September 5, from 7 to 8 p.m. at Guinn-Horger Funeral Home in Hondo, Texas, and again before the service at 9 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, D'Hanis. The Rosary will be held on Saturday, September 6, at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, D'Hanis, followed by Mass of Resurrection 10 a.m., and interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, D'Hanis.
