Rebecca A. Stewart

Rebecca A. Stewart, 75, of Rushville, IN went to join her parents, siblings, and other family members in heaven on October 12, 2025 at IU Health Methodist Hospital with her loving family by her side.
Rebecca was born in Rushville, IN on September 9, 1950. She is the daughter of the late Gust and Florine Niehoff Herbert. She married James Stewart on March 29, 1975. They spent 50 years together.
Rebecca was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Rushville, IN. She loved life, people and sports. She was a very loving and giving person. She always enjoyed being around her grandkids and spending as much time possible with family. She enjoyed watching the Indiana Pacers, Notre Dame football, IU basketball and Chicago Cubs baseball.
Rebecca is survived by her husband James Stewart of Rushville, IN; son Mike Chandler of Rushville, IN; daughter Jamie (Jonn) Russell of Noblesville, IN. She is also survived by brothers Lloyd Herbert and Jerry (Rosie) Herbert; sisters, Patsy McVey, Carolyn Risk, Mary (Sheldon) Hoeing and Jeannie Hawley.
Also surviving and missing Mamaw/Ma Becky, are 4 grandchildren: Matthew (Brooklyn) Chandler, Kaitlin Chandler, Kara Chandler and JaLynn Russell; 3 great grandchildren Ava, Marlee and Ivy Chandler. She was also loved and will be missed by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by sisters Angie Godar, Ruth Carr, and Louise Hayes; brothers Walter Herbert and Virgil Herbert; brother-in-laws, Robert Godar, Joe Carr, Darrald Hayes, Richard McVey, Richard Risk, and Gary Hawley; sister-in-laws, Shirley Herbert and Ethal Herbert; lifelong family relative, Joseph Klein.
