Rebecca Stratis, age 73, passed away on August 3, 2025, in Columbia, Maryland.

Born on January 3, 1952, Rebecca was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, teacher, and friend whose warmth, kindness, and spirit touched all who knew her.

She is lovingly survived by her children, Jonathan Stratis and Elizabeth "Betsy" (Matthew) Cross; her cherished grandsons, Oliver, Emmett, and Luca; and her brothers, Steven (Susan) Wolf and Richard (Cindy) Wolf. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, John and Vera Wolf.

Rebecca dedicated her professional life to education, teaching Spanish at both the middle and high school levels. Her love of language and culture inspired generations of students.

An avid sports fan, Rebecca rooted passionately for the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Kansas City Chiefs. She was a loving dog mother, with a particular fondness for Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. But it was her role as a grandmother that brought her the greatest joy. She cherished every moment spent with Oliver, Emmett, and Luca-whether they were off on treasure hunts, visiting the zoo, making art, baking cookies, or cuddled up with a good book.

In honor of her generous spirit and lifelong commitment to helping others, donations in Rebecca's memory may be made to the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research, World Central Kitchen, or Apraxia Kids.

She will be remembered for her kindness, her laughter, and the love she so freely gave to her family and community.
