Rebecca Underwood-Kuhlman July 15, 1947 ~ September 12, 2025
Rebecca Underwood-Kuhlman, 78, of Marion, passed away at 1:09 am on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Rolling Meadows Health & Rehabilitation Center in LaFontaine. She was born in Marion, Indiana, on Tuesday, July 15, 1947, to Harry and Kathleen (Jones) Underwood.
She attended Back Creek Wesleyan Church through her childhood and teenaged years. In her younger years, she managed Fairmount Hardware with pride and purpose, becoming a familiar and trusted face in the community. Florida was home for many years, offering her sunshine and serenity. She found joy in the simple pleasures-fishing by the water's edge, dancing to her favorite tunes, and letting music fill her days. Her love for travel took her to the vibrant shores of Puerto Rico and the breathtaking landscapes of Hawaii, always seeking new adventures and memories. Her life was a beautiful blend of hard work, heartfelt connections, and a spirit that embraced the world with open arms.
Rebecca is survived by her sisters, Vickie Moore of Marion, Nancy Underwood of Florida; brother, David (Julie) Underwood of Gaston; an aunt; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father and stepmother, Harry (Donna) Underwood; mother and stepfather, Kathleen (Tom) Hugill; husband, Harry Kuhlman; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Moore.
An inurnment will take place at 10 am on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at Grant Memorial Park 1606 W. 26th St., Marion, IN.
Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.
