WHEELERSBURG-Rebecca Lorraine Weghorst, 86, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, November 4, 2023, in Huntington, WV. Born on March 15, 1937, in Greenup County, KY, she was a daughter of the late Morris and Thersia Jordan Potter and was a homemaker.
A graduate of Portsmouth Interstate Business College, she was a member of Wheelersburg Church of Christ, and formerly employed for the F.B.I. in Washington, DC. She was a proud member of the Scioto County Republican Central and Executive Committee, enjoyed gardening and reading, but more than any of the preceding, her love of her grandchildren was foremost.
Also preceding her in death were her husband, Richard Weghorst, brothers, Ed Potter, Glenis Potter and Clyde Potter and a sister, Mildred Stone.
Surviving is a son, Dee (Nikki) Weghorst of Dayton; two daughters, Paige (Mark) Williams of Wheelersburg and Sarah (Brian) Garven of Murfreesboro, TN; a brother, James (Sharon) Potter of Greenup, KY; a sister, Betty Dupuy of Maloneton, KY and those four precious grandchildren, Maddie Williams, Claire Garven, Ethan Garven and Brooke Garven and several nieces and nephews.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 7th, at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Lynn Wessel officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park.
The family will receive guests at Brant's from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Scioto County Public Library.
