She went on to earn an Associate's Degree in Laboratory Technology from Navarro College in 1979 and later received her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Texas A&M University-Commerce in 2008. She was deeply devoted to her students and found great joy in guiding and teaching them. On August 31, 1979, she married the love of her life, David Wren, with whom she shared 46 years of marriage. Together, they built a life centered on family, faith, and love. Rebecca is survived by her husband, David Wren; daughters, Trudee Wren and her partner Joe Peña, Ashley Ferrell and Tabitha Randolph with her husband Matt; brother-in-law Joe Wren and his wife Sara; sister-in-law Michelle Smith and her husband Michael; nephews Danny Wren and his wife Kelly, Michael Wren and his wife Trisha, and Matthew Smith and his wife Stephanie; nieces Mikayla Smith and Kristen Wren; close family friends Rand Osenbaugh and his wife Shelly; and a host of extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Naline Wren; brother, Danny Joe Weaver; her parents, A Z and Bertha Thompson; her parents-in-law, Billy and Lera Wren; and her brother-in-law Doug Wren. Rebecca was a strong, self-made woman whose hardworking nature and generous spirit touched many lives. She loved animals, especially chihuahuas, and enjoyed crocheting, reading, and helping others whenever she could. She especially loved her students and greatly enjoyed guiding and teaching them. Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home in Fairfiled from 10:00am to 11:00am.
