Recia Marie Adams, of Yeaddiss, KY, passed away peacefully at her home in Yeaddiss, Kentucky, on December 27, 2024, at the age of 93. Born on April 12, 1931, in the Farler community of Perry County, Recia was the daughter of the late William R. Bailey and Dahlia Fields Bailey.
Throughout her life, Recia was known for her kindness, great sense of humor, and mischievous spirit, often pulling pranks that brought joy to those around her. Her warmth and laughter left a lasting impression on family and friends alike. She was an avid gardener, working tirelessly in her flower and vegetable gardens alongside her loving husband, Johnny Adams, who also preceded her in death. Recia took great pleasure in sharing the bountiful harvest from her garden with others and enjoyed fishing, particularly from the pond at her daughter's home in Ohio, where she took pride in catching bigger fish than others in her company.
An accomplished quilter, Recia created beautiful quilts and pieces that were gifted to family members, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and creativity in each stitch. Her dedication to her craft reflected her nurturing spirit and her desire to provide comfort to those she loved.
Recia’s proudest accomplishments extended beyond her hobbies; she was a faithful Christian with a bold witness for the Lord. A long-time and devoted member of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ at Yeaddiss, she served as the song leader for many years and continually encouraged others in their faith. Recia was known for her commitment to reading the Bible three times a day and inspiring those around her to deepen their spiritual lives.
She is survived by her three daughters, Dahlia Church (Darrell) of Stockport, OH, Louise Clark of Smilax, KY, and Gladys Ann Pennington (Hershel) of Smilax, KY. Her three sons, Henry L. Adams, Johnny Lynn Adams (Kristy), and Leon Adams, also of Yeaddiss, KY, are left to honor her memory. Recie's legacy includes twenty cherished grandchildren, thirty-seven cherished great-grandchildren, twenty-two great-great-grandchildren, as well as a host of step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
