Regina "Gina" Colvard, age 61, of Gadsden, passed away on August 18, 2025.
Funeral services will be held at Crestwood Funeral Home on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at 2 p.m. with burial to follow at Crestwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Gina will be remembered as a true people person who never met a stranger. She carried a positive spirit, a warm heart, and a gift for making everyone feel welcome. A talented and passionate cook, her kitchen was often filled with laughter, love, and the company of family and friends. Though she could be strong-willed, she was also thoughtful, fair, and always open to reason. Above all, Gina loved her family deeply. She was generous to a fault-ready to give the very shirt off her back-and her legendary cooking and vibrant presence will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Donny and Peggy Clayton, and her brother, David Clayton.
She is survived by her son, Clayton Colvard; chosen brother and cousin, Johnny Cooper; and close friend, Wayne Dewey Colvard.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Denise Windburn, the MICU staff at Gadsden Regional, Brittany, and Wayne Colvard for their love and care during Gina's final days.
