Regina Hansen

Maria "Regina" Schutt Hansen, 96, passed away June 22, 2022, in North Ogden, Utah. She was born September 26, 1925, to Johan Willem Schutt and Anna Magdelena Ritzen in Kerkrade, Limburg, The Netherlands. On May 21, 1947, she married Johannes "Jan" H.J. Hansen in Brunssum, The Netherlands. In 1958, they together with their 2 children braved a new adventure when they immigrated to the USA, settling in Utah. Gina worked as a seamstress for Van Kampens and later as the secretary/bookkeeper of Jan's countertop business, Superior Tops.
Gina was a member of St. James Catholic Church where she was active in her later years with Pall Duty and preparing her signature potato salad for many funeral lunches. She was also a member of the Promoters of the Sacred Heart. Gina enjoyed cooking, knitting, sewing, and chasing her grandkids. She was spunky, loved to laugh, share her smiles, and have a cold beer.
Gina is survived by her children Anna Maria (Francis) Remkes, Bill (Barbara) Hansen; 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, 4 brothers and her sister.
The family would like to thank Gina's great-granddaughter Kierra Manning, for the great care she gave her Omi the past 2 years. Also, thank you to Tiersa and Carissa with Applegate Hospice.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, June 28, 2022, 11:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 495 N. Harrison Blvd., Ogden, Utah. A vigil with rosary will be Monday, June 27, 2022, at 6 p.m. followed by a visitation until 8 p.m.at St. James. Interment will be at Evergreen Memorial Park, 100 Monroe Blvd., Ogden, Utah.
