Obituary of Reginald C. Audain
Reginald C. Audain, 61, of Somerset, passed away on September 4, 2023, at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital, New Brunswick.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 22 at 10 a.m. at Franklin Memorial Park, 1800 NJ-27 North Brunswick, NJ 08902.
Reginald, affectionately known as "Reggie," was born on July 13, 1962, in
Georgetown, Guyana. He was the cherished son of Reginald and Eugene Thompson, a testament to their enduring love and devotion.
In 1970, Reginald moved to the United States, settling in Orange, NJ, alongside his loving parents, dear sister Wendy and brother Frank. It was in Somerset, NJ, where his heart found its true home in 2002, a place he loved deeply and cherished.
From a young age, Reginald displayed an unwavering commitment to academic excellence. He emerged as the valedictorian of his high school and college years at Rutgers University, where he earned a degree in Urban Planning. His continued passion for learning led him to New York University (NYU), where he achieved a master's degree in Public Administration.
For three decades, Reginald dedicated his expertise and passion to the United States Housing & Urban Development (HUD) as a Senior Planner in Newark.
Beyond his career, Reginald found joy in life's simple pleasures. He was an avid traveler, exploring the world's wonders and cultures. He loved trying different foods and enjoyed eating delicious meals. And the lights of Broadway held a special place in his heart.
In his quiet moments, he developed a deep passion for studying Psychology and frequently entertained the idea of reentering the classroom.
Reginald's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of academic achievement, dedication to public service, and zest for life will continue to inspire us all.
Reginald now joins his late father, Reginald; mother, Eugene; and sister, Wendy, in eternal rest. Reginald is survived by brother Frank, his wife Audrey Audain, sisters Jean Marques Claudette Audain, nieces Renee Marques and Stephanie Audain, nephews Vaughn Marques and Alex Audain, and numerous other family members and close friends, all who held a special place in his heart.
May his soul find peace and his memory be a blessing to us all.
