Reginald was born on February 9, 1960 in Houston. Reginald passed away due to cancer. Just like he dealt with all experiences in life, Reginald managed his illness with strength and grace and wanted to spend as much time with his loved ones as possible. In his final days, he was surrounded by his loving wife, family, and friends. They all sat around his bed, talked with him, and prayed for him. I know that Reginald heard and reacted to what you all were saying. He was definitely surrounded by family and loved ones in his last days, and to us, that is the most important thing.
Reginald had such a big life and touched so many people it's hard to know where to begin. He was a son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, father-in-law, brother, brother-in-law, Godfather, uncle, cousin, and friend. To us, he was our dad.
Our earliest memories of him are teaching his daughters how to swing out and zydeco, listening to music, washing his kids' vehicles when stopped by to visit, being the family's mechanic, riding his motorcycle, driving trucks, and supporting his kids by attending their games. For those of us who were incredibly close to him, we likely also have memories of him even sharing his opinions whether you wanted to hear them or not; however, he never let that get in the way of doing things to help and support you when you needed him. Later in life, he became a huge Saints fan and enjoyed cooking outside and in church with friends. We have many fond memories with Reginald, from being excited to celebrate Mardi Gras back home in Grand Mais, bragging about his kids' accomplishments, drinking coffee, and gossiping with family and friends. I don't know too many people who met Reginald and didn't have a fond memory of him. He indeed had a gift to connect to people on so many levels. He was undoubtedly a shining star that burned out too soon.
He is survived by his wife, Nellie Boutte; sons, Courtney Boutte(Tia) and Reginald Boutte, Jr.(Brandi); daughters, Regina Boutte(Regina "GiGi"), Elaine Colbert(Royale) and Christina Bayman(Scotti); brother, Walter Boutte, Jr; sister, Mary Dale; 15 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and numerous family and friends; GodKids, Jessie Noel, Jamie Olivier, Michael Baltazar Jr. and Stephanie Boutte.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Hilda Boutte; mother-in-law, Mildred Noel; brother-in-laws, Chris (Rita) Robertson and Rubin Hypolite; godfather, Wilton Boutte and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be Courtney Boutte Jr., Donte' Boutte, Reginald Boutte III, Ryan Boutte, Stephen Boutte, Yancey Boutte and Christian Cormier .
Honorary pallbearers will be Courtney Boutte Sr, Reginald Boutte Jr, Donald Benoit Jr., Curtis Ledet Sr., Clarence Thompson "Bluecat", Walter Boutte Jr "Pokey", Jeremy Boutte "Mice", Floyd Olivier, Lawrence Boudreaux "Popeye", Clarence Lee "Doodle" and Clausey Noel Jr.
