Reginald Waters Oscar Lawrence (Reggie) was born on April 25, 1952, in Salisbury, Maryland to Sylvester Lawrence and Ruth Lawrence (Cottman) of Quantico, Maryland. Reggie passed away peacefully in his sleep with family present on August 20, 2025 at home in Delmar, Maryland. He was 73 years old.

Reggie graduated from James M. Bennett Senior High School. He was employed at the Pepsi Cola Bottling Company and also the Maryland Department of Health, Holly Center, where he worked as custodian engineer. He retired after 13 years of service at the Holly Center.

Reggie loved sports, especially football and softball. His favorite team was the New York Giants but he quickly changed teams based on their wins-loss record. His favorite position on the softball field was first-base and he was well-known for his flair at fielding (full splits while catching tosses) and his left-handed power hitting. He also enjoyed Motown music and especially the group LTD. He was known for his occasional head nod, arm raising and moving his feet to the beat. He loved telling jokes and would often tell them just to get the shock factor.

Reggie recently attended Emmanuel Wesleyan Church of Salisbury, Maryland.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents and oldest sister Eunice Lawrence.

His memory is survived by his loving wife, Wanda Smullen Lawrence; two sons, Reginald Lawrence, Jr. (Marsha fiancé) and Mark Smullen (Denise); one grandson, Tymere and three great grandchildren( Cel'lia, Ty'mere, and Tresure); he has three step granddaughters (Theresa, Allison and Jasmine) two brothers, Eugene Lawrence Sr. (Jackie) and Gregory Lawrence; two sisters Lorraine Tuner (Harold) and Sharon Cottman (George); an Uncle Earl Conway (Olive) and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
