Reginald Gene Rogers, age 93 of Carrollton, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 13, 2025. Born in Alexander City, Alabama, on May 6, 1932, he was the son of the late Elmer Erwin Rogers and the late Effie Marriah Carpenter Rogers. In addition to his parents, Reginald is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Roxie Poulson Rogers.
Reginald was a proud veteran having served in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1956. Returning home, he continued his education and was a graduate of Auburn University, the University of Hawaii, and Florida State University earning his master's degree. Reginald retired from the EPA as an Ecologist and then became a successful blueberry farmer. An avid tennis player, Reginald was ranked with ALTA. He also enjoyed being a woodworker, cabinet maker, and car enthusiast, but his favorite hobby was tennis.
Left to cherish his memories are his four children and their spouses; Lea & Joey Salter, Don & Christine Rogers, Pamela & David Vance and Cathy Campbell, his brother and sister-in-law, Rodney & Carol Rogers; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins.
In keeping with Reginald's wishes, he was cremated and his cremated remains will be scattered in the Gulf near Pensacola at a later date.
Cremation services are entrusted to Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan.
