Regis "Ron" Ryan

Regis "Ron" Lewis Ryan, born May 30, 1948, died peacefully on January 31, 2026, in Lincoln, Nebraska, at the age of 77.

Ron grew up in Chicora, Pennsylvania, the youngest of 11 children. He served in the United States Air Force as an aircraft mechanic, with his final station at Hickman Airforce Base in O?ahu, Hawaii, where he met his wife, Mary.

Ron spent his professional life as a civil servant in the federal government. He concluded his tenure with the U. S. Department of Homeland Security. To his family and his many treasured friends, he was known as "Boss." He will be remembered fondly for his humility and his humor.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Leah (Traffas) Ryan; his children, Julie (Ryan) Evans and husband Craig, William Ryan and wife Teresita (Chavez) Ryan, Rory Ryan and wife Christie (Smith) Ryan, and Elizabeth (Ryan) Cano and husband Andrew; his ten beloved grandchildren; and his extended family and many friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1704 Lake St in Lincoln. Rosary will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Pius X High School or Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
