Reid Davis Obituary

Visit the Beam Funeral Service & Crematory - Marion website to view the full obituary.

Reid Allen Davis was born on March 31, 1952, in Old Fort, North Carolina, to Violet Walker Davis and William Earl Davis. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Reid passed away on March 11, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Reid was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother, Jack Davis (Doris). Reid is also survived by his sister, Sue Moffitt (Allen). He leaves behind his beloved wife, children, and grandchildren, who will continue to honor his legacy and carry forward the love he gave so freely.

Reid’s greatest joy in life was his family, and his dog, Griff. He was the devoted husband of Dana Allison Davis, with whom he shared 53.5 years of marriage. Reid was a proud father to Nicole (Jeff) and Mason (Jamie). He deeply cherished his role as “Grandaddy” to his grandchildren Emma (Caleb), Ethan, Preston, and Aurora.

Reid was a man of dedication, intelligence, and quiet strength. He graduated as valedictorian from Old Fort High School in North Carolina, where he met his high school sweetheart, Dana. Their lifelong partnership began there and grew into a marriage that lasted more than five decades. Determined and hardworking, Reid went on to earn a degree in Industrial Engineering from North Carolina State University.

His strong work ethic and determination carried through every aspect of his life. Prior to his retirement in 2015, he worked for Cooper Lighting for 36 years, managing 19 plants and built lasting relationships with colleagues and friends.

Outside of work, Reid found joy in the outdoors and in life’s simple pleasures. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, listening to music, and spending time on the golf course. A loyal and enthusiastic fan, he rarely missed the opportunity to watch NC State football or basketball, proudly cheering on his Wolfpack.

In recent years, Reid faced Corticobasal Degeneration, a rare and incurable form of Parkinsonism. He met this challenge with the same quiet strength and determination that defined his life. Above all else, Reid will be remembered for his deep love of family, his steady presence, and his unwavering integrity.

His family finds comfort by the words of 2 Timothy 4:7–8, where Reid now rejoices in the arms of his Lord and is resting in the word: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day.”

The wisdom and kindness Reid shared with those around him will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His legacy continues through his wife, children, grandchildren, and the many lives he touched. Reid Allen Davis will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 14, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Cherry Springs Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, those who feel led may make a donation in his memory to the PSP & CBD Foundation: https://pspcbdfoundation.org/honor/

The family resides at 119 Sanctuary Lane, Taylors, SC 29687.
