Relda Blake Obituary
Relda grew up in a family of 13 children, the eldest daughter of Stanford and Rebertha Forbes. As the oldest girl, she carried the responsibility of caring for her siblings, a role that shaped her lifelong devotion to family.
Relda was a devoted member of Faith Seventh-Day Adventist Church. She was a member of the sanctuary choir for many years. Her love of music inspired her and 3 close friends to form a ladies quartet, performing at church events and socials. She served faithfully as a deaconess and a member of the Pathfinder Parent Association, traveling with the Pathfinders to camporees, preparing meals, sewing patches, and lending her helping hands wherever needed.
Relda's life reflected sacrifice, strength, and unconditional love. She gave freely of herself, offering kindness, comfort, and warmth to everyone she encountered. Her presence was a blessing, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she loved.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 12, 2026 from 10:00-11:00, with the Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 am at Faith Seventh Day Adventist Church, 500 Woodland Street, Hartford

I remember Sis Blake very well I miss her We both had a special love for each other She took me under her wings when I became a member of the Sanctuary Choir at Faith I became a much better alto because of her Sis Blake loved people She loved her family and she loved the Lord I look forward to seeing her again when Jesus comes Be encouraged family You are in my thoughts and prayers Let us remain faithful Until He comes Much love hugs prayers and blessings
