Remo Antinori

Remo Antinori of Greenwich Village passed away peacefully Monday morning November 3rd just five months shy of his 100th birthday. He was predeceased by his parents Romolo and Catherine Antinori and his sisters Sylvia and Anna Antinori. He grew up on East 33rd Street in the Murray Hill section of New York City. After graduating Cheslea High School, he entered the army and served his country proudly overseas in Guam during World War II. Upon returning from the war, he met the love of his life, the former Josephine Chiappetti on a blind date. They were married on September 4th 1948 and shared 77 years of marriage.

He worked for most of his career as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. He enjoyed listening to music and spending time with family. He is remembered and forever cherished for the kind, gentle, and "salt of the earth" person he was. He will forever be in our hearts.
He is survived by his beloved wife Josephine Antinori, his four children, Christine Hurtig, Raymond Antinori, Lisa Petrocelli and her husband Joseph and Ronald Antinori and his wife Mary Ann, his grandchildren Kim Pugliese, Jessica Wilkinson, Kristin Petrocelli, Christopher Hurtig and his wife Julianna and Ryan Antinori, and his great grandchildren, Andrew Wilkinson, Collin Wilkinson, Parker Wilkinson, Arianna Petrocelli Mingo, Mia Petrocelli Mingo, Remo Hurtig, and Marigold Hurtig along with many nieces and nephews all of whom he loved dearly.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his name to St. Jude's Children Hospital or the Dementia Society of America.
