Rena Mae Brown of Marianna, Florida, passed away on January 8, 2025, at the age of 91, at home surrounded by family.

She was born in Weston, WV on October 20, 1933, to Gae Allie and Raymond B. McCoy where she enjoyed her childhood in the mountains.

Rena married Don in 1951, at the age of 18, after only knowing him for one month. Rena loved to tell the story of how she and Don met. Together they developed property on the east side of Spring Creek which had been given to her by her mother and stepfather, Gae Allie and Don Delaney, which she treated like a memorial to them with much pride.

She was an LPN, a musician, an artist and she taught several of her children and grandchildren to sail. She was always up for a good joke and loved making people laugh. At every doctor visit, Rena and Dr. Steven Spence enjoyed making jokes. She loved life and always wanted to know what someone did for fun when she would meet someone.

Rena was preceded in death by the love of her life and first husband, Donald Brown and her second husband, Richard Day. She was also preceded in death by her firstborn, David Lewis Brown. Rena had one cherished sister, Dottie Rehberg (James) of Marianna.

She is survived by three children, Debra Blocker (Dwight) of Marianna, Mike Brown (Wendy) of Jacksonville, NC, and Linda Kinchla (Larry) of Falmouth, MA. She is also survived by nine grandchildren whom she treasured, Rena Mae Brown, Jackie Brown, Jason Blocker, Tonya Hayes, Cory Brown, Keisha Brown, Amanda Pham, Amy Kinchla, Paul Kinchla, nine great-grandchildren, two nieces, and many friends and family who love her dearly.

Memorial service will be 11 AM Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Trinity Baptist Church with Pastor Danny Mann officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30 until the time of service.

We want to thank Dr. Steven Spence and his office staff for their dedication to her care.
