Rena Faye Johnson, a beacon of love and faith in the Greenville community, passed away on July 29, 2024. Born on June 28, 1947, in Greenville, South Carolina, Rena's life was a testament to the power of unwavering faith and selfless love.
Rena's journey began as the cherished daughter of the late Sadie and Jack Hall. Her path in life was one of devotion and service, not only to her family but also to her congregation. Rena's calling led her to become the Pastor of Pickens Chapel Church in Easley, SC. Her work within the church and the broader community left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Rena's legacy is carried on by her loving family. She was a proud mother to her sons, Rodney Dale Clark, Roger David Johnson, and Scott D. Allen Johnson. She is predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Roger Dale Johnson, and her daughter, Alice Faye McClain. Rena's life was further enriched by her three living stepdaughters and one stepson who preceded her in death. Her siblings, three living sisters, one living brother, and five siblings who passed before her, will remember her as the family's cornerstone. Rena's joy was multiplied by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom she loved dearly.
Beyond her pastoral duties, Rena was a homemaker, a gospel singer, and a songwriter whose music touched the souls of many. Her songs were not just melodies but messages of hope and redemption, echoing her deep-rooted faith. Rena's life was a symphony of service, her every action a note in a grand opus of love and giving.
Those who knew Rena will remember her as the epitome of loving kindness. She was faith-filled, always trusting in the divine plan, and selfless, consistently placing the needs of others before her own. Rena's presence was a comfort, her words a balm to those in need, and her actions a reflection of her unwavering commitment to her beliefs.

As we bid farewell to this extraordinary woman, we take solace in the knowledge that her legacy of love and faith will continue to inspire generations to come. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 2, at 3 PM, at Fellowship Church, 315 Hamlin Rd, Liberty, SC 29657.
