A proud and avid Chicago Bears fan, he cheered on his team with loyalty, win or lose. He was a true car enthusiast, and could talk cars with anyone who shared the same spark. Known for his sarcastic sense of humor and dry wit, he was a man of few words - but when he spoke, it counted. He loved to make people laugh and smile. He was a devoted dog dad to his beloved Pickles, who was never far from his side. A hardworking man through and through, he retired from NJ Transit after 22 years of dedicated service. Retirement didn't last long. His strong work ethic led him back into the workforce, where he took great pride in his role as a Security Officer at Caesars Casino. Rene was deeply loved and will be missed beyond measure.
Beloved husband of Brenda Ashford (nee Riley). Loving stepfather of Steven Riley (Tremaine), Shannon Riley and Jaleesa Almond. Dear best friend of the late Glenn Dickerson, Sr. He is also survived by many step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, cousins and extended family.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Friday, August 15th, from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM, at the COSTANTINO-PRIMO FUNERAL HOME, 231 W. White Horse Pike, Berlin, NJ, 08009. Funeral Service 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in Rolling Green Memorial Park, 1008 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 19382.
