Rene J. Bisson

Rene J. Bisson passed away on March 27, 2026. He was born on February 4, 1942, to Joseph and Imelda (Fecteau) Bisson.

Rene married his lifelong "sweetheart", Cecile Dube, on June 15, 1963, at St. Andre's Church in Biddeford. Cecile truly was the love of his life. He worked at the Saco Tanning Company and then for Pratt & Whitney for 19 years, retiring in 2004. He enjoyed traveling and spending time at the camp he and his wife owned in Vassalboro, Maine, where they made many lasting friendships over 20 years. They also spent approximately 12 years at their trailer in Zephyrhills, Florida. Rene also enjoyed going out to eat with his nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; his sisters, Germaine Genest, Cecile LaRoche, and Jeanne Veilleux; his brothers, Armand Bisson, Urbain Bisson, and Raymond Bisson; and his grandson, Gavin Daigle.

He is survived by his son, Troy Daigle and fiancée Denise McIntyre; his grandchildren, Chase and Blake Daigle, who affectionately called him "Grampy Rene"; his brother, Gerard Bisson and partner Barbara R. Michael; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Wardwell, as well as the staff at the Maine Med Neurology ICU Unit for their care and compassion.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm Street, Biddeford, ME 04005. A Funeral Mass will follow at 1:00 pm at St. Joseph Church, 178 Elm Street, Biddeford, ME 04005. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
