Rene Branchaud Obituary

BRISTOL

Rene J. Branchaud, 95, of Bristol, devoted husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2025 at home surrounded by his children. He is now reunited with his wife, Valeria Branchaud whom he longed to be with again. Rene was born July 4, 1930 in Bristol, CT, son of the late Angelina and William Branchaud. He grew up in Bristol, CT, attended St. Anns Catholic School. Rene embraced each day with Zest and Kindness, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him. He was a Beacon of Love and Light and his boundless energy and optimism were, infectious. He dedicated his life to his family and shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife of 71 years, Valeria Branchaud. Rene had a career in Construction starting with Barry & Webster and he retired from the Public Works of Bristol as a Heavy Equipment Operator in 1995. In addition to his children, Richard Branchaud (Deborah-spouse), Gloria Chappius (Chuck Hartman-partner) and Linda Biernacki, Rene is survived by his cherished grandchildren, Melissa Branchaud-Rivera (Will Rivera-spouse), Tricia Branchaud, Ryan Branchaud (Julie McCary-fiance), Jennifer Kraus Cuevas, Laura Campos (Jose Campos-spouse), William Bugbee, Daniel Bugbee, Jeremy Woodward and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Rene is predeceased by his Granddaughter, Sharron Kraus Woodward. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 10, 2025 at 10 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Church, 510 West St., Bristol. Entombment will follow in the Holy Family Mausoleum at St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol on Friday, before the Mass, between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m.. Please visit Renes memorial website at www.FunkFuneralHome.com.
