It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of René Mounier on October 13, 2024, at the age of 85. Born on May 24, 1939, in New York, NY, to Martin Mounier and Lenza Rios, René lived a life marked by love, humor, and dedication to those he held dear.

René shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife, Sofia, and together they raised two children, Thomas and Lisa, who were the light of his life. He was also a devoted and proud grandfather, whose warmth and wisdom enriched the lives of his grandchildren.

René enjoyed a successful career as an accountant for Williams and Wells Shipping and Distribution Company, where he was known for his professionalism and dedication. Outside of work, René was passionate about photography, capturing the moments that told the story of his family's life. His most treasured photos were from trips to Europe and Puerto Rico with Sofia, where they created unforgettable memories together.

An avid Yankees and Giants fan, René loved watching sports and sharing his love for the game with those around him. He loved his TV, watching everything from 24 and American Idol to The Walking Dead. He was known for being the life of the party, always making those around him laugh with his quick wit and joyful spirit.

Family was the center of René's world. He was deeply connected to his entire family, nuclear and extended, always keeping in touch to ensure they were doing well. René's love and kindness will be remembered by all who knew him.

René is survived by his children, Thomas (Mary) and Lisa (The Late Michael), his brother; Robert (The Late Diana), his grandchildren; Roland Rene Mounier, Rachel and Christopher Cody. His legacy of love, laughter, and treasured memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.

May his memory be a blessing.
