It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jamie Renee Martinez, a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, and friend, who left this world suddenly on August 14, 2025, in Santa Fe, NM, surrounded by her adored family. Born on February 9, 1958, Renee lived a life defined by her love for others, her commitment to service, and her joyous spirit.
Renee was a bright light in the lives of many. Throughout her career, she shared her love for selfless service by working in several clerical positions for the State of New Mexico. Her dedication and professionalism were a testament to her character, and she approached every challenge with grace and resilience.
A proud graduate of McCurdy High School, Renee was not just an exceptional worker but also a fun-loving woman who filled her world with laughter and warmth. Her love for family was unparalleled, and she relished every moment spent with her children, Mario Martinez and Jamie Martinez. They were her pride and joy, and she cherished them deeply. Along with her grandchildren Miquella Martinez, Isaiah Martinez, and Mariah Otero.
Outside of her professional life, Renee's heart belonged to the outdoors. She adored riding horses and felt at home in the mountains, where she found peace and solace. Her culinary skills often brought people together around the dining table, enjoying dishes that were as vibrant as her personality. She found great joy in making crafts, especially blankets, crosses, and jewelry which she shared with family and friends.
Tragically, Renee's life was cut short, but she leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and perseverance. She was predeceased by her parents, Jay and Rosalie Martinez, who surely welcomed her with open arms. Renee's spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of those she loved and all who were fortunate enough to know her. She is survived by Mario Martinez, Jamie (Shawntae Barela), Miquella Martinez, Isaiah Martinez, Mariah Otero and her sidekick, Bella Martinez and brothers, Mike (Margaret) Martinez, and Jerry (Veronica) Martinez, along with many other relatives and friends.
As we remember Jamie Renee Martinez, let us celebrate the joyous moments she brought into our lives, the love she shared, and the indelible mark she left on the world. Her memory will continue to live on in the stories told by her family and friends, a reminder of a life well-lived and a love that will never fade.
