5 years Pop... 5 years!!!!
Miss you like crazy.. think about you all the time!! We gave mom a surprise 80th birthday party last night, I think we finally got her! Guests were family and friends. I know she would've rather had you there but I think she really enjoyed herself. Your fav daughter inlaw as she calls herself cooked up a storm.

Can't believe it's a year since my dad passed. Miss him every day and still find myself wanting to call or text to say hi or get that fatherly advice.
Lots of great memories were shared this week as we were surrounded by our Jersey family.

Renato Romolo Mancini (Reno) born Oct 9th 1936. He was the third child only son to Ernesto and Elena. He was the son and brother that kept everyone on their toes from stealing tomatoes out of gardens, picking on a kid on his way to violin lessons, to hiding in a trash can from the kid's father. You can imagine the stories told by his sisters growing up. He started working young helping his father in the family business to working at a Deli learning values of hard work. He got his first car a 1940 Dodge when he was in high school of course it had no wheels but he worked hard to get them and get it on the road. A few years after High School he went into the Army, served, was honorably discharged and began his computer career. A few years later he would meet the woman that would change his life forever, Susan his queen. He always told her she saved him from all the women. They would marry and soon start their family 3 boys and 1 girl who was the apple of his eye. Damon, Darren, Dawn, and David yup all D's it was a mouth full for him when he try to yell at one of us... he'd run through all our names and finally say you know your name get over here. When he wasn't yelling at us he was supporting us whether in school, sports, or our adult lives. Always encouraged us that the sky is not the limit and loved us unconditional. For a small man he was big and tall in stature, he took no crap from anyone, and would protect his family to the end. He was the king of our castle but a Jester at heart. He loved to make you laugh, tell jokes, and pull pranks.. the life of a party. He met many people over the years some just acquaintances others life long friends. He could make conversation with anyone no matter where we were, sometimes it was embarrassing. He loved bragging about all his grandchildren from the highlight of his only grandson being born to having 9 granddaughters and two great grandsons. He had special bonds with each one and continued his tradition of encouragement and love for them. He attended all cheer competitions, football games, baseball, softball games, and school talent shows. He was not only Pop to them but their advisor, family story teller, shoulder to cry on, the one to make them smile, and cheer them up. He wore his Proud Grandpa shirt well.
In closing I can state that for their 52 yrs of marriage our father loved our mother just as much as on their wedding day. He was a great Husband, Father, Pop, Son, Brother, Uncle, Cousin. He made us all proud to be a part of the Mancini family tree, Italian Heritage, and of course fans of the NY Giants and Yankees!
