Retta June Cserny

Retta June Cserny, 91, of Raleigh, IL, passed away on Monday afternoon, December 22, 2025 in her residence surrounded by her family, following a brief illness.
June was the daughter of the late Rev. Louis and Opal Durfee. She was united in marriage to Dr. Huba Andrew Cserny who maintained an active medical-surgical practice in Eldorado, IL for many years. June was the director of nursing for Ferrell Hospital and spent a lifetime using her nursing practice to promote holistic care for others in her community. Dr. Cserny preceded her in death on March 8, 2018.
She is survived by her children, Mark (Joanna) Odum of Hanson, KY, their children, Aimee (Alex) Mansir of Salt Lake City, UT and Aaron (Gabbi) Odum of Haines City, FL; a daughter, Susan (Rick) Mallady of Harrisburg and their children, Caleb (Jillian) Mallady of Carterville, IL and Kara (Troy) Graham of Carrier Mills, IL; a son, Charlie (Dana) Cserny and their son, Andrew of Lexington, South Carolina; and a daughter, Suzanne Cserny of Marion, IL. Also surviving are 5 great grandchildren; Juniper, Dean, Henry Mallady; Willa and Samuel Graham, and Renley and Ellie Odum. She is also survived by her siblings, Larry (Carolyn) Durfee, Pat Wright, Janet Massinelli, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by brothers Michael and Louis Durfee Jr and sisters, Barbe Stover and Vivian Williams and brother-in-laws; George Wright and Wick Massinelli
The family appreciates all the prayers and acts of kindness shown during June's declining health. A special thank you to Shelly Wright, who was June's caregiver during her illness
It was her wishes were to be cremated, with a private family graveside service to be held at a later date.
