With deep sorrow and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, teacher, and Pastor, Rev. El as Abner Lozada Pereira, who departed from this world on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at the age of 78. His legacy of love, faith, and service will forever resonate in the hearts of all who knew him.

Born on September 17, 1946 in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico, El as lived a life of deep love, compassion, and dedication. A loving son, he cared deeply for his family and his roots, always honoring the legacy of his parents and the lessons they instilled in him. His kindness, humility, and unwavering faith were a testament to the values he upheld throughout his life.

As a father, El as was a constant source of strength and encouragement. His children knew him as a dedicated and loving father who always provided wisdom, guidance, and, most importantly, unconditional love. He was deeply proud of his family, and his love for them was evident in every moment he shared with them.

He was also a proud grandfather, whose warm embrace and playful spirit brought joy and comfort to his grandchildren. He cherished every moment spent with them, imparting lessons of love, faith, and kindness. His stories, laughter, and wisdom will forever be remembered by those he had the privilege of guiding into the next generation.

For over four decades, El as was a passionate and dedicated teacher, shaping the minds and hearts of countless students in San Lorenzo, PR, Somerset, TX and Milwaukee, WI. His passion for education was evident in every lesson he imparted, and his commitment to his students went far beyond the classroom. He inspired and mentored students, believing firmly in the transformative power of education. His belief in the potential of every individual, his gentle guidance, and his ability to inspire left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to learn from him.

As a Pastor, El as was not only a spiritual leader but also a loving shepherd to his congregation. He saw his church members as an extension of his own family, offering unwavering support, comfort, and counsel through life’s joys and struggles. His sermons were not just words; they were a reflection of his deep love for God and for those entrusted to his care. His faith and his love for others were the cornerstone of his ministry, and his influence will be felt for generations to come.

In his personal life, Elías took great pleasure in the company of his beloved pets, Max, Charlie, and others, often spending joyful moments with them. He treasured time spent with his grandchildren, nurturing their bonds with love and care. Elías also found comfort in preparing home-cooked Puerto Rican dishes, delighting in sharing these meals with family and friends. He cherished outings with loved ones, whether dining at his favorite spots or enjoying a quiet moment with his guitar. Among his many passions, fishing held a special place in his heart, providing him with peaceful reflection and connection to nature. El as also had a deep passion for the arts, particularly in writing poetry and composing songs. His creativity flourished not only in his written works but also in his love for singing, where his voice became a reflection of his heartfelt emotions and faith. Through his lyrics and melodies, he shared his soul with others, enriching the lives of those who had the privilege of hearing him.

El as was predeceased by his parents Juan Lozada de León and Clotilde “Cuqui” Pereira Zayas, and his sister-in-law Vilma Ortiz de Lozada.
