Reverend Larry Dean Richmond peacefully departed this life at his home May 7, 2025, in Caledonia, Arkansas. He began his earthly presence August 14, 1949, in Caledonia born to Clemetine Pedigrew and Spencer Richmond. He joined Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church (EMBC) at a young age, guided by the steady hands of his grandparents who instilled in him Christian values that would shape his life and calling. He graduated valedictorian from Rosenwald High School in 1967, and went on to attend Arkansas AM&N College.
Larry later completed an electrician four-year apprenticeship program in Indiana and became a licensed master electrician. He was employed at Midwestern Electrical Contractors, Inc., in Gary, Indiana, and later became an entrepreneur starting his own electrical company, Richmond & Son Electrical Contractors in El Dorado. He was a 33rd degree mason and served as Grand Master of the St. John Grand Lodge A.F and A.M. in Gary, Indiana.
In 1991, he became the pastor of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church and served in that capacity for 28 years, retiring in 2019, when his health began to fail. Under his leadership, EMBC underwent major renovations and updates. He also established a nursing home ministry, a jail ministry, and the summer youth tutoring camp.
Reverend Richmond was a community pastor giving his last to those in need. He used his talents for the Glory of God, providing electrician services for free. He was also known for his delicious barbecue, often using his gift on the grill to feed families throughout the community.
On September 14, 1970, Larry married the former Barbara Creer and to this union five children were born. He was proceeded in death by his parents, two brothers; Curtis Williams and Alonzo Williams, a son in law; Craig Davis, and a daughter, Shalonda Richmond Gatson.
Larry's memories will be forever cherished by his wife of 54 years Barbara Richmond, El Dorado Arkansas; three daughters, Rosalind Richmond Davis and Shawntala Richmond both of Sherwood, Arkansas; Amy Richmond RedCloud (Lionell) of Leavenworth, Kansas; one son, Lawrence Richmond of North Little Rock, Arkansas; Son in law, Carlos Gatson, Arlington, Texas; one brother, Jerry Williams, Gary, Indiana; three sisters, Tina Williams, Gary, Indiana; Robin Morris (DeWayne) Los Angeles, California; Beverly Richmond Cain (Michael)
El Dorado, Arkansas; Godson, Jamario Bell, Rosston, Arkansas; Goddaughter, Crystal Rainey, Jacksonville, Florida; two granddaughters, Shania Davis and Amaya RedCloud, six grandsons, CJ Gatson, Donovan Davis, David, Kylen, Dominic, and Micah RedCloud, and of host of relatives, and friends.
