Rev. Robert Thomas (Bob) Webb was born January 16,1946, in Memphis, Tennessee, to the late Thomas M. Webb and the late Eloise Liles Webb. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 28, beginning at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of the Bells Funeral Home.  A visitation will begin from 10:00 A.M. until the service at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 28, 2025.

Bob grew up in Dyersburg, Tennessee, and graduated in the top ten of his high school class of 1964. He was a member of the Key Club, the honor society and was a 3 year letterman in football as a member of the varsity football team for three years. Bob accepted a principal appointment to the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. He was a graduate of the class of ’68 and immediately attended graduate school at Georgia Tech in Atlanta. After receiving his master’s degree in thermonuclear engineering in 1969, Bob developed diabetes and received an honorable discharge from the Navy in October 1969. Bob was proud of his military service and was disappointed with his discharge from the Navy for health reasons.

After the Navy, Bob was employed in various engineering and construction positions in Baltimore, Maryland and Houston, Texas, where he met his wife Gloria, before returning to his roots to own and operate Access Industries, Inc. in Memphis, Tennessee

Bob married Gloria Ann Deckie on November 13, 1982. During this time, he attended Memphis Theological Seminary and became an ordained pastor. Bob’s last and most meaningful pastorate was the Rossville Independent Methodist Church, in Shelby County, Tennessee. Bob was a faithful pastor and his commitment to his ministry was only matched by his deep devotion to his wife Gloria. Together, they were a great resource and accompaniment to each congregation Bob served. They built a life full of love, laughter, and many cherished memories which always included a fur-baby that was spoiled.

During his last years, Bob’s health deteriorated from the effects of his diabetes and other health issues. Bob’s life took a heart-wrenching turn when he lost Gloria only 40 days prior to his own passing on June 13, 2025, at the Tennessee State Veteran’s home in Humboldt, Tennessee.

Bob leaves his two daughters, Theresa Marbry and her husband JC from Burlison, TN, Kathy Stewart and her husband John of Katy, Texas, and his brother Rick Webb and his wife Marty of Memphis. Bob was a proud and loving grandparent to seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He always received tremendous joy and companionship from his faithful dog Maggie.

In the wake of his passing, Bob will be fondly remembered by his family and numerous friends whose lives he touched in profound ways. His legacy of love, faith and service will continue to shine brightly.
