It is with immense pride and unfathomable pain that we announce both the birth, and passing, of our sweet and beautiful daughter, Rae.
Reveille Annslyi Edward Groat was born, sleeping, on April 14th, 2025.
Though what time we got to have with her was incredibly short, her shining spirit and bright soul will live on all around us; in the touch of the wind, in the twinkling of the stars above, and in the simple beat of a butterfly's wings.
Reveille leaves behind her adoring and heartbroken parents, Randy (Jr) and Heathen Groat; her brother and sisters Randy (III), Remember, and Rainbow Groat; her 'Sei-Sei' Stacey Stone; her grandmother Heather Vangilder, and great-grandmother Judy Wolfe; her aunts and uncles Britanny Whetsell, Amanda Shaffer, Brandon Groat and Heaven Manning, Ramona Groat, Katie McAtee, and Tommy (II) and Carol Thomas; as well as numerous doting cousins and friends.
And a special mention to Gail Rock, our gentle hearted midwife who helped guide us through this darkness. Blessed beyond words for her presence.
Rae was preceded in death by her grandmother Shelley Thomas, great-grandmother Judith Baker, her grandfathers Randy Groat Sr., and Charles Hester, and her baby cousin Braidon Masters.
