Rex Clark Allred, age 78, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on January 8, 2026, in Rocky Ridge, Utah. He was born to Rulon Clark Allred and Myrtle Lloyd Allred on April 7, 1947, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Rex is survived by his loving wife Susan Allred, with whom he shared 47 years of marriage and five children. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and an unwavering devotion to one another. Rex is also survived by Annie Stephens, with whom he shared 23 years of marriage and six children.

Rex was the proud father of, and is survived by, Phillip Allred (Athy and Christy Allred), Christine Woolley (David Woolley), Wendy Allred (KC Donahue), Stephen Allred, Danielle Thompson (Hyrum Thompson), Mary Ryan (Patrick Ryan), Levi Allred (Jacey Allred), Bethany Watson (Chad Watson), Erin Allred, Brittany Bunker (Laurence Bunker), Susan Breanne Allred. Rex is survived by 40 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and several siblings. Rex was one of 48 children, which shaped his sense of family, generosity and responsibility to others.

Rex proudly served his country as a First Lieutenant in the United States Army, including service in Vietnam. His military service was a source of pride and reflected his deep sense of duty and honor.

Professionally, Rex combined his love of people and cars into a remarkable career. He spent more than 40 years managing car dealerships, leaving behind a legacy of hundreds of employees who loved working for him and countless clients for whom he was not just a salesman, but also a friend.

When Rex wasn’t working, he devoted himself entirely to his family. He spent all of his free time entertaining and being present with his children. He loved both playing and watching sports—especially basketball, football, volleyball, and baseball. Some of his most treasured moments were spent boating with family.

Rex was a deeply religious man, steadfast in his faith. He read the scriptures daily and lived his life on the path of his Lord and Savior.

All who knew Rex loved him and felt loved by him in return. He had a rare ability to make everyone feel accepted and valued. His kindness knew no bounds, whether you were a stranger or a family member. Rex became a father figure to many children within his extended family and beyond.
