Rex L. Arbogast, 91, of Higginsville, Missouri died Monday, March 14, 2016, at Meyer Care Center in Higginsville. Born Sunday, November 2, 1924 in Sprague, Missouri, he was the son of Dee Lee Arbogast and Myrtle Withrow Arbogast. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Earl Ashley, and one great great grandchild. Rex served as a veteran of World War ll, serving in the Army Air Force attaining the rank of Private First Class. He married Gertrude M. Keller on April 23, 1949 and later that year they moved to Higginsville. He worked as a soil conservation technician for the Soil Conservation office in Higginsville, retiring in 1979. He also enjoyed farming. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Higginsville and a member of the Higginsville American Legion Post #223. His favorite hobby was fishing especially with family members. In addition to his wife, Gertrude, he is survived by two sons, Duane Arbogast of Higginsville, MO and Ralph (Susan) Arbogast of Higginsville, MO, one daughter, Susan (Mark) LaRoche of Cookville, TN; 9 grand children; 11 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. A funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, March 21, 2016 at Immanuel Lutheran Church located at 1501 Lipper St. Higginsville, Missouri 64037, with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, MO. Memorial contributions may be sent to Crossroads Hospice. Pastor Marcuss Jauss will officiate the service and Donna Owens will serve as organist. Casketbearers are Colton Arbogast, Dylan Arbogast, Brandon Arbogast, Kyle LaRoche, Kevin LaRoche, Jeff Arbogast and Chris Arbogast. Honorary pallbearers are Andrea Arbogast, Chandra Arbogast, Meagan Arbogast, Lindsay Arbogast, Kasi Arbogast, Katherine Arbogast and Darla Weaver.
