Rex Brady Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by O'Connor Mortuary - Laguna Hills Chapel & Mortuary on Jan. 30, 2026.
Rex Brady passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy as vivid, complex, and deeply felt as the life he lived. He was a devoted husband and father, an accomplished attorney, and an inspirational musician whose presence left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Born to Charles and Rebecca Brady, both of whom preceded him in death, Rex grew into a man of sharp intellect and unmistakable individuality. He built a respected career in law, earning admiration for his skill, confidence, and conviction. Beyond the courtroom, his heart belonged to music, creativity, and culture. Whether performing, listening, or sharing stories, music was not simply something he loved, it was something he lived.
A true paradox in the best sense, Rex was equally at home in professional seriousness and artistic rebellion. He lived with intensity, charisma, and a fearless commitment to being himself. His wit was quick, his humor effortless, and his presence magnetic. He had a rare ability to make people feel seen, entertained, and valued.
More than a decade ago, Rex suffered a massive stroke that changed the course of his life. The years that followed brought profound challenges for him and for the family who stood beside him. During this chapter, Rex revealed another side of himself, one marked by endurance, vulnerability, and the unwavering support of those who loved him. Though this period carried difficulty and suffering, it also created a deeply meaningful and unique version of Rex that his family came to know in a different way.
Music remained one of the most meaningful bridges between Rex and his children. Through guitar, song, film, storytelling, and conversation, he passed along not just tastes and interests, but a way of seeing the world. He taught his children to listen closely, think critically, appreciate art across generations, and pursue passion without apology.
Above all, Rex was a father whose influence will continue to shape the lives of his children and grandchildren, who carry forward his memory and the Brady name with pride.
In his final chapter, Rex found peace and closure not only with those around him, but within himself. His journey, including his suffering, became an offering to his family, bringing understanding, healing, and a sense of completion for which he is remembered with profound gratitude.
Rex is survived by his wife, Tina Brady; his children, Keegan, Dillon, Emily, and Aiden Brady; and his grandchildren, Ryder, Amara "Moonie", Mason, Margot, and Leona.
Reflections from His Children
"He was a law man and an inspirational musician. In the end, my father made peace and had closure, not just with those around him but with himself. His suffering was an ultimate offering for this family, clearing away the karma we all carried by being part of this journey with him. For that, I am eternally grateful."
- Keegan Brady, First Born Son
"A true paradox in the best sense, a sharp, accomplished lawyer by day and a passionate musician by night, equally at home in a courtroom or on stage, living life with intensity, rebellion, and charisma.
Deeply shaped by music and culture, he shared his love of rock, storytelling, and creativity with his children, teaching them to listen closely, think critically, and appreciate art across generations and genres.
A magnetic, unforgettable presence, witty, bold, unconventional, and deeply human, he made people feel seen, special, and entertained, leaving a lasting impression on family, friends, and everyone who crossed his path."
- Dillon Brady, Second Born Son
"To the man whose influence will shape my life forever, even in ways he may never have realized. From early family movie nights to music, photography, the perfect cup of coffee, and all things with a dramatic flair, I owe so much of who I am and the interests and passions I hold to you, Dad.
As I navigate this world, I carry you with me, your spirit a constant presence and driving force behind every passion and goal I pursue. I promise to honor your legacy and live in a way that would make you proud to call me your daughter, today and always."
- Emily Brady, Daughter
"He's the reason I fell in love with guitar and music in general. He was the one who placed his guitar into my hands and showed me what music truly means.
He had an effortless sense of humor, quick and genuine, always able to make you laugh no matter what was going on. He was confident in who he was, never tried to be anyone else, and carried himself in a way that was contagious."
- Aiden Brady, Third Born Son
Rex Brady's legacy lives on through the family he loved, the music he shared, and the lives he shaped. He will always be remembered.
A Catholic Prayer for the Faithful Departed
Go forth, Christian soul, from this world
in the name of God the Father Almighty, who created you,
in the name of Jesus Christ, Son of the living God, who suffered for you,
in the name of the Holy Spirit, who was poured out upon you.
May your place be this day in peace,
and your dwelling place with God in heaven,
with Mary, the Virgin Mother of God,
with Saint Joseph, and all the angels and saints.
