Services to celebrate the life of Rex Cameron will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, October 29, at Waldo Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Joe Patterson officiating. Interment will follow at West Hill Cemetery with Roger Robertson, David Cameron, Richard Cameron, Randy Cameron, Johnny Cameron, and Jerry Don Cameron as Pallbearers.
Rex was born October 31, 1949, in Merced, California to Ralph Cameron and Lois (Ragland) Cameron and passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 24, 2025, in Denison at the age of 75. Rex married the love of his life Debbie on June 19, 1971, and was blessed with 41 years of marriage until her passing in January of 2013. Rex worked for Frito Lay for 32 years until he retired in 2009. Rex was very proud to have served this great Country in the United States Marine Corp. While in the Marines he earned National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/device and the Combat Action Ribbon and was honorably discharged in 1970 when he was transferred to the Marine Corp Reserve until 1974. He loved sports, especially his Longhorns and 49ers. He loved spending time with his family and having cookouts.
Rex is preceded in death by his loving wife Debbie, his parents, 4 brothers Donald Gene, Gary (Dutch), Louis, and Rodney, 1 sister Elois (Kay).
He is survived by 2 daughters Cathy Alexander and her husband Billy of Whitesboro, Tx, Michelle Gamble and her husband Johnny of Whitesboro, Tx, 2 sisters Sharon Carroll, and Beverly Cameron. 5 grandkids Cody. Shawn, and Keaton Alexander, and Cameron and Kyle Gamble and 3 Great-grand kids Casy, Aubree and Aiyden Alexander.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-8pm at Waldo Funeral Home.
