Rex McAlary Obituary
Rex married his best friend, Marilyn Mae Turner on July 11, 1969 in Camargo, Oklahoma. Together they raised their family and spent fifty-five wonderful years of marriage together.
Rex was a company man in the oilfield industry and was employed by Parker Drilling, Quarles, Ram Energy, Indrex and St. Mary's for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed off road motorcycle racing, watching the rodeos, and race cars. He loved trap shooting, turkey hunting, and quail hunting. Rex was a member of the Amateur Trap Shooting Association, the Sayre Gun Club, and was a life member of the NRA. He had many great adventures and treasured spending time with his family and friends, he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 30, 2025 at Martin-Dugger Funeral Home Chapel, Elk City, Oklahoma. Shawn Wilson will officiate. Interment will be at Sunnyside Cemetery, Vici, Oklahoma. Services have been entrusted to the care of Richard and Tammy Dugger and the staff of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Elk City, Oklahoma.
Cherishing his memory is his wife, Marilyn McAlary of Elk City, Oklahoma; one son, Shane McAlary of Elk City, Oklahoma; three daughters, Cherrie Corvelo and her husband, David of Edmond, Oklahoma, Carrie McAlary of Edmond, Oklahoma, Stacie Holly and her husband, Jeff of Stillwater, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Derek Corvelo of Edmond, Oklahoma, Damon Corvelo of Edmond, Oklahoma, Jarrett Holly of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Jorrie Holly of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Lily McAlary of Elk City, Oklahoma, Toby Perkins of Elk City, Oklahoma; and a host of other family and friends.
Rex is preceded in death by his parents, Denver J. and Josephine Izora McAlary.
Memorials can be made to Red Dirt Shooting Club, Sayre, Oklahoma in care of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home and Cremation Services, P.O. Box 707, Elk City, Oklahoma 73648.

With heartfelt memories sending comfort for all of the family at this time. Rex was a cousin of mine. My Grandmother Ruth Houston and his Father Denver McAlary were siblings. I would get to visit with Rex when he would come in to vici to pay bills or check on his property's located here, that were located next to my parents. I remember being children and his parents having McAlary Sundae Shop on Broadway, we always got cokes and would put peanuts in them, and get to pick one kind of candy out of the big glass jars along the top of the store, and twirl around and around on the stools. He was always a very kind and gentle. Rest in peace cousin.

My sister and I were in the 1st grade and Rex was in the 2nd grade, he would chase Mary and I and kiss us on the cheek being the sweet little girls we tattled to the teacher so she would make him kiss her the cheek he did and back out to the playground and kiss us. The was the beginning of a long time friendship and we got to be friends with Marilyn and one the best memories was we were in our 1st year of college and got the honor to babyset the twins for them. We had so much fun and felt very honor to get to. Our love and prayer to the family. Leslie and Jeri (Jones) White
