Reyes Hernandez-Sias, de 95 años, originario de LaSalle, Colorado, partió de este mundo el 7 de septiembre de 2025, rodeado del amor de su familia.
Nació el 7 de enero de 1930 en Rosario, Chihuahua, tierra que siempre llevó en el corazón, hijo de Francisco Ignacio Hernandez y Manuela Sias Castillo.
Reyes fue un hombre trabajador, que dedicó su vida al campo con manos laboriosas y un corazón lleno de esperanza. Le encantaba cantar, contar chistes, montar a caballo y recorrer la sierra cortando vigas y leña. Uno de sus lugares favoritos era el Campo 101 de los menonitas, donde disfrutaba especialmente de su caldito. En su tiempo libre, cuidaba con esmero su patio y atendía a sus gatos.
Fue un padre estricto, pero sus hijos recuerdan con gratitud que les enseñó a ser responsables y trabajadores.
En 1951, se casó con Eva Miranda en Namiquipa, Chihuahua, con quien fue bendecido con 11 hijos, 32 nietos, 51 bisnietos y 3 tataranietos, con uno más en camino.
Sobrevive su esposa Eva Miranda de Hernandez. Hijos: Guadalupe(Elsa+), Aurelia(Humbert+), Raul(Corrine), Alfredo(Cathy), Adela(Monserath+), Abel(Laura), Irma(Florentino), Reyes(Luzelena), Magdalena(Horacio). 3 hermanos: Alejandro(Josephina), JuanJose(Ofelia) Y Gil. Su nietos, biesnietos, y Y tatara nietos.
Le procede en la muerte sus padres, sus hijos: Alonso Hernandez, Jaime Hernandez, y una nieta Pearlita Hernandez. Un hermano Eugenio Hernandez, y una hermana Consuelo Hernandez de Sosa.
Se le extrañará profundamente por su gran sentido del humor, su risa contagiosa y su manera única de alegrar cualquier reunión. Su presencia dejaba huella, y su legado vivirá por siempre en el corazón de quienes lo amaron.

He was born on January 7, 1930 in Rosario, Chihuahua, a land he always carried in his heart, son of Francisco Ignacio Hernandez and Manuela Sias Castillo.
Reyes was a hardworking man who dedicated his life to the countryside with hardworking hands and a heart full of hope. He loved to sing, tell jokes, ride horses, and explore the mountains chopping beams and firewood. One of his favorite places was the Mennonites' Camp 101, where he especially enjoyed their broth. In his free time, he meticulously tended his yard and cared for his cats.
He was a strict father, but his children remember with gratitude that he taught them to be responsible and hardworking.
In 1951, he married Eva Miranda in Namiquipa, Chihuahua, with whom he was blessed with 11 children, 32 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, with one more on the way.
He is survived by his wife Eva Miranda de Hernandez. Children: Guadalupe (Elsa), Aurelia (Humbert), Raul (Corrine), Alfredo (Cathy), Adela (Monserath), Abel (Laura), Irma (Florentino), Reyes (Luzelena), Magdalena (Horacio). 3 siblings: Alejandro (Josephina), Juan Jose (Ofelia) and Gil. He has 3 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his sons: Alonso Hernandez, Jaime Hernandez, and a granddaughter, Pearlita Hernandez. He is survived by his brother, Eugenio Hernandez, and a sister, Consuelo Hernandez de Sosa.
He will be deeply missed for his great sense of humor, his infectious laugh, and his unique way of brightening up any gathering. His presence left a lasting impression, and his legacy will live forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
