Reynaldo Javier Obituary

Reynaldo Javier, 79, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, passed away on August 20, 2025. Born on January 24, 1946, in the Philippines, Reynaldo was a beloved husband, father, brother, devoted servant of God, and retired U.S. Navy veteran. He graduated in '69 from (MIT) Mapúa Institute of Technology in Manila with a degree in Chemical Engineering. Guided by hope and perseverance, he immigrated to the United States and went on to serve proudly in the United States Navy for 20 years. Living by the values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment, he was admired and respected by all who served alongside him.

He was a founding member of the Knights of Columbus, San Lorenzo Council, where his leadership as Grand Knight reflected his dedication to the principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism. His lifelong commitment to the Catholic faith was evident in his active presence at Mass throughout the community, where his devotion and example inspired many. His steadfast belief in Faith, Hope, and Charity was the foundation of his life and will guide him as he journeys into eternity.

Reynaldo was preceded in death by his parents, Ricardo and Josefa Javier. He is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Julieta; his son, Richard, and his cherished partner, Christina; his sister, Maria Rhodora (Alfredo); as well as many cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends who will deeply miss him.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 28, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5033 Rouse Drive, Va Beach. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 29, at 10:00 a.m. at Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 1401 Pacific Avenue, Virginia Beach. Online condolences may be offered at www.altmeyerfh.com
