Rhoda Nardella Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Campbell Funeral Home - Beverly on Dec. 11, 2025.
Rhoda F. Nardella, 91 of Beverly, died peacefully on Monday, December 8th. Born in Gloucester, she was the daughter to the late Richard and Ruth (Tucker) Hubbard and the beloved wife to the late Michael Nardella for 62 years.
Rhoda, a fiercely proud Gloucester girl, made the best decision of her life when, after graduating Gloucester High School, she decided to venture over the bridge and attend nursing school at Beverly Hospital. It was there that she met her future husband who was visiting his ailing grandmother. They were married in 1955 and settled in Beverly where they had five children. While Mike was in Boston focusing on his role as provider, Rhoda artfully shaped and influenced the growth and activities of their children, giving them ample opportunities to stumble as well as succeed in life's challenges. She kept pace everyday not missing an important school or sporting event even when grandchildren were added to the family tree. Her children, grandchildren and ten great grandchildren filled her heart with joy every day of her life.
Rhoda is survived by her sons Michael (Maureen), Brian and Bruce (Pamela) of Beverly and daughters Susan Kline (Douglas) of Hamilton and Deanna Berry (Peter) of Beverly. She is also survived by grandchildren Anthony and J Michael Nardella, Meghan and Kathleen Nardella, Carly Vose and Nicole Nardella, Jake and Nicholas Berry, Dylan, Zachary and Nora Kline.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by brothers Bruce, Richard and Clayton Hubbard and sister Helen Smith.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the wonderful caregivers at Herrick House and Ledgewood Rehabilitation Center.
Her funeral Mass will be held at the St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 253 Cabot Street, Beverly on Monday, December 15 at 11:00 am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, on Sunday, December 14 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery, Beverly. Contributions may be made in Rhoda's memory to Open Door, 28 Emerson Ave, Gloucester 01930. Information, directions, condolences at www.campbellfuneral.com.
