Rhonda Yvette (Johnson) Evans, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2024, at the age of 56. Born on May 2, 1968, in Louisville, Kentucky, Rhonda was the cherished daughter of Sharon (Evarts) Geary and the late George Johnson. Her warm heart and limitless love was such a gift for all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Rhonda had an undeniable passion for nurturing those around her, often expressing her love through the meals she cooked for family. She also cherished the moments spent at the beach, where the soothing sound of the waves mirrored the tranquility she radiated in her life. Rhonda was blessed to have experienced many adventures while traveling alongside of her sister, Tammy.
In addition to her father, Rhonda was preceded in death by her sister, Cynthia (Johnson) Dyer. Her spirit lives on through her loving family, including her mother, Sharon Geary; sister, Tammy (Johnson) Gray; step-sister, Heather Geary; children, Danielle Bishop (Justin), Brianna Masters (Isaiah), and Gabrielle Evans (Tyrise Major); step-father, Gerald Geary; beloved grandchildren, Evan, Aria, Zoey, Xander, Kobi, Ky'Reece, and Skyla.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Thursday after 9:00 a.m. Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with cremation to follow in accordance with Rhonda's wishes.
Rhonda's family would like to thank the staff and countless friends that were made at Green Valley Care Center. The love and care they provided to Rhonda was a source of comfort during a very difficult time.
