Heckart Funeral Home - SedaliaRhonda Ann Johnson, 55, of Sedalia, passed away Monday, March 2, 2026.
She was born June 6, 1970, in San Jose, CA, the daughter of the late Norma Jean Clardy. On February 20, 2008, in Sedalia, she married James Bryan Johnson, who survives of the home.
Rhonda loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, floating, and fishing. She took pride in her yardwork and had a gift for growing beautiful flowers.
She was a devoted homemaker and an excellent cook. Rhonda kept her family connected by hosting Sunday dinners, a tradition everyone looked forward to. Being a mother and “Mimi” to her grandchildren was one of the greatest joys of her life.
Rhonda’s smile could light up a room. She was a good listener who made others feel valued and understood. She opened her home and her heart to many, especially children who needed extra care and encouragement. She was kind, generous, and always wanted those around her to feel safe and supported.
A woman of strong faith, Rhonda enjoyed attending WOW Bible Group and found comfort and fellowship there.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Matthew “Buddy” Duran (Heather), of Sedalia, and Luke Jefferies, of Belton; a bonus son, Nick Salas (Dorie); a brother, Lonnie Clardy (Melanie), of Chandler, AZ; seven grandchildren, Lucy Duran (Tyler Blaylock), of Sedalia, Riely Duran and Zach Duran, of Illinois, and Abel, Bentley, Mylo, and Maci; and a great-granddaughter, Stevie Jean.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2026, at Heckart Funeral Home, followed by a Celebration of Rhonda’s Life at 7:00 p.m. Rev. Richard DeFord will officiate.
Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in care of Heckart Funeral Home.
