Rhonda Gail Williams Smith, 61, of Marion went to be with the Lord at Mission Hospital McDowell on Sunday, January 28, 2024.
Rhonda was born in McDowell County, on April 10, 1962 to the late Clyde Williams and the late Wilma Brown Williams. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Danny Smith.
Rhonda was a long time member of Bethel Free Will Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was known as a warrior of faith. You could see Jesus in her. She enjoyed painting ceramics. Her grandbabies were her life. She loved them dearly. She will be missed by her family and loved ones.
Left to cherish her memory are her two children, Gwendolyn Revis (Adam) and Melissa McClellan (Mark); her siblings, Danny Williams (Martha) and Holly Goforth (Stephen); four grandchildren, Zoey June Revis, Reagan Mae Revis, Lilly Danielle Revis and Bryant Lee McClellan; her best friend, Diane Smith; Deanna Fortune and Candace Pugh who she thought of as daughters, and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service will take place at Bethel Free Will Baptist Church on Friday, February 2, 2024 at 3:00 pm. with Rev. Jeff Boone and Rev. Larry Anderson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00 until 3:00 pm at the church. Burial will take place following the service at Bethel Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
Both flowers and donations to the family are welcome.
