While Ricardo's education was limited due to his developmental disability, his capacity for love, his eagerness to learn about the world around him, and his ability to inspire were heartwarming. Ricardo was a member of Iglesia Bautista del Sur, where he was always ready to lift his voice in song, praising and celebrating his faith with a pure heart. A loving soul, Ricardo was happiest when surrounded by family. He is lovingly remembered by his brother and sister-in-law, Salvador Mejia Castillo and Ana del Carmen Canales de Mejia, as well as his niece and her husband, Rebecca Mejia and Julio Cesar Burgos Cruz.
The family will hold a Memorial Service at Iglesia Bautista del Sur at a later date. The family suggest memorials to the Ricardo de Jesus Mejia Castillo Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 412 N 7th Street, Garden City, KS 67846 620-276-3219
Ricardo de Jesús Mejía Castillo, completó su vida terrenal el 21 de septiembre de 2025, rodeado de su familia en Garden City, Kansas. Nació el 24 de diciembre de 1964 en San Miguel, El Salvador, hijo de Salvador Mejía y Juana Castillo Villareal. Ellos fallecieron antes que él.
Aun que la educación de Ricardo fue limitada debido a su discapacidad del desarrollo, su capacidad de amar, su entusiasmo por aprender sobre el mundo que lo rodeaba y su capacidad de inspirar fueron conmovedores.
